It is a requirement that for all travel via South Africa, even if in transit, and to enter Botswana all adults travelling with children under the age of 18 years will be required to carry an original copy of the child’s unabridged (full version) birth certificate. It is also advised that should you be travelling as a solo parent with your child/children, you carry a certified affidavit with permission from the other parent clearly stating authorization for the child/children to travel.
