Enable
us to get
off the beaten track and to go to the
more remote areas of the country
where there are no lodges or infrastructure,
normally camp is made for a few days while
we explore the area before moving on to the
next site. We camp out under the stars,
have animals walk through camp and have
superb meals prepared over the campfire are
only part of the allure.
On mobile camping safaris we take
all our own equipment with us allowing
us to be totally self sufficient, taking all food,
camping equipment and water. All camping
safaris are led
by fully qualified and licensed
professional guides
and their assistants.
The vehicles used are
purpose built 4 wheel drive safari
wagons which can get us close to the action
and ensure that every one has a good view of
Botswana’s wildlife.
Whether you join an existing departure or
let us tailor make a private safari
for you, we will make sure it is an
unforgettable experience
Participation Camping
Safaris
We normally camp
at public camping areas in the national
parks although in some instances we may use
private HATAB sites if available.
Although these are called participation
safaris, they are still very comfortable and
cost effective. Camp chores are simple and
done quickly.
Depending on which operator we use, numbers
are normally limited from 7 to 10 passengers
per safari vehicle.
Luxury Camping Safaris
Large 3m walk in dome tents with camp beds.
All equipment and bedding is provided. (not
towels) These safaris generally use private
camp sites specifically reserved for
Botswana operators.
These wilderness sites have no
infrastructure, are typically remote and not
near any other lodge or camp.
Normally one vehicle is dedicated to
equipment while another to our clients only.
Numbers are generally limited to 8
passengers per safari vehicle and although
these are not our super luxury trips,
participants lack for nothing in terms of
comfort and enjoyment.
Some drinks are provided and a camp
assistant is there to handle most of the
daily chores

Super Luxury Camping Safaris These can only be described as
“mobile
lodges” Large “5 star” cottage style tents
with en-suite showers and toilets are
used.
Often these safaris will alternate between
using permanent lodges for a night or two
which allows the mobile camp to move ahead
and be erected pending your arrival. This
really is ‘camping at its finest’.
Proper beds, duvets etc are the order of the
day. There is normally at least one staff
member per guest and the camp erected ahead
of guest arrival. Everything is including
all drinks are included.

These are normally tailor made according to
how much time our clients have, but can
included in an existing package. These
safaris start in either Maun or Kasane and
can be include in any existing package according to interest
and budget.
We only use Botswana Holidays selected lodges
and only lodges that we have personally
visited and experienced for ourselves.
Our selection covers a variety of lodges in
all the most interesting places: Water based for the
Okavango, land based for
the parks and reserves, Concession based
for private game viewing and special interest
lodges for activities such as horseback
riding, elephant back safaris, bushmen
experiences to name a few.
Normally clients fly between the lodges
where they stay for two or three days before
moving on, some lodges can be visited using
motor boats and for those clients who have
the time and do not want to fly, we can
organise road transfers between the lodges
but due to the roads and distances these
transfers can take between 5 to 8 hours!
All the lodges
we use are selected to suit different
budgets and interests, where we use either 4 or 5 star
accommodation everything
is
included in the rate, all food, drinks
accommodation and activities - the latter
depend on the area and lodge, game drives,
boat cruises, makoros, walking to name a
few.

This option
enables you to hire either a 2 wheel drive
vehicle where you stick to the main tar
roads and use local operators to take you
into the Park and Reserves, or you can hire
a 4 wheel drive vehicle – with or without a
guide and drive through the
Parks
and Reserves yourself.
The sand roads in the Parks and Reserves are
challenging and not for the faint- hearted!–
if you do not have previous 4wheel drive
experience we strongly recommend that you
hire a guide or take the 2 wheel drive
option. It is not only much safer using
local operators and guides, but it is also
advantageous as they are licenced
professionals, who will know where to find
the good game viewing areas and how to
navigate the sandy and unmarked tracks. It
is often worth paying the money for this
expertise rather then doing it on your own
and seeing nothing,
With all ‘Drive yourself’ options you will
need to plan your route with our help, we
strongly recommend you book any overnight
camping and Lodge accommodation in advance –
many lodges and campsites take a maximum of
16 to 20 people and these are usually booked
up months in advance.
See our ‘Suggested itineraries’ page for
examples of a 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel
drive itineraries, if these don’t suit you –
let us plan your self drive safari with you

From birding
to star gazing tours, horse and
elephant back safaris and many more,
all are available or can be organised on
your behalf.
If you are in a large group needing a
conference in the bush or perhaps a newly
married couple who want complete privacy, we
can organise whatever your special needs or
interests require. There are too many
options to list and we suggest that you
contact us
and we can ensure that your interests are
accommodated.
