Mobile camping Safaris offer a personal Safari experience as you have your own personal guide and vehicle for the whole duration. Camping Safaris can also to go to the more remote areas of the country often where there are no Lodges or infrastructure as all equipment and food is taken on the vehicle.
Normally camp is made for a few days while we explore the area before moving on to the next site.
Camping safaris can be Tailor made to suit your groups interests and depart on a day of your choosing or there are several Safari Operators which offer scheduled Safaris with set date departures & itinerary which you can join.
There are Tailor made and Scheduled group safaris for all comfort levels – Participation, Luxury and Super Luxury (see below for descriptions and inclusions)
You can add a night or two at a Lodge either before or after your camping safari or insert a couple of nights in the middle of your safari to give you a break for camping. Some of our itinerary ideas above show this option.

Camping safaris use a fully equipped safari vehicle with open sides – ideal for viewing game close up!
The safari will be led by an experienced driver-guide and his assistants and all camping equipment and food is brought along in a trailer.
Designated camping areas of the National Parks are used – either the National Park sites with ablutions or private camping sites where we dig our own toilet and erect a bush shower!
Unlike other countries, the camping areas are open to the park – so animals can be seen wandering around the campsite – so it is a real wildlife experience!
Hearty meals are cooked over the coals and cool boxes are taken to keep the drinks cold!
Tailor-made Camping Safaris

Tailormade Safaris can be designed to go to any area the client requires – Moremi NP, Chobe NP, Central Kalahari GR , Nxai Pan or Magadikgadi NP,
Your group decide the departure date, itinerary, comfort level, length of stay at each place, Lodge stays to break up the camping can also be added which is a nice thing to do.

Scheduled Group Safaris

There is a huge variety of Scheduled group Safaris and these are good for individuals and couples to join. Group size, itinerary route and comfort levels vary – so let us know your dates, areas of interest and we can find a suitable trip for you to join.

Participation Safari inclusions

This type of safari generally uses small Dome tents with mattresses/bedrolls and require clients to participate in camp chores such as setting up tents, cooking and washing up.
The safari is run by the driver guide and one safari crew.
Drinks are bought by the members of the group before the safari departs and are for your own cost.
National Park public campsites are generally used with fixed ablutions

Luxury Safari inclusions

This type of safari uses larger ‘Walk in’ tents with camp beds and bedding. The Safari guide will have a larger crew who will take care of the camp chores so there is almost no participation required from the group members.
Selective drinks are included.
Private ‘bush’ campsites are used and private shower and toilet tents are erected for the group.

Super Luxury inclusions

These safaris are ‘a 5 star lodge on the move’ and use spacious luxurious cottage style tents furnished with ‘proper beds’ , fine bedding and have en suite facilities.
There is a large safari crew to cater to your every need and serve you your meals and drinks,
The crew will go ahead and set up camp before you arrive.
Guest drink preferences are bought in advance and generally served in cut glass with ice!
