Mombo offers a group of travellers the
exclusivity of a 'private' camp all to
themselves. Little Mombo is built on the
same island as Mombo and is an extension of
the main camp. It is connected to the main
camp via the raised walkways which connect
all the guest rooms and both camps.
Although Little Mombo has only 3 rooms, it
can be ‘enlarged’ for larger groups by
booking out some of the rooms from the main
camp. The rooms at Little Mombo are
identical to the rooms at the Main Camp, and
perhaps even more luxurious, with a distinct
African feel. Little Mombo also has its own
dining room, kitchen, lounge and swimming
pool. It covers the same area as Mombo and
offers the same experience and standards as
the main camp, although it is quite removed
from the main camp and has its own ambience.
Hidden from the world within Botswana's
Okavango Delta and situated just off the
north-western tip of Chief’s Island, is the
secret paradise of Mombo and Little Mombo.
The Mombo and Little Mombo camps are
situated deep within the Moremi Game Reserve
on a scenic island. Giant umbrella thorns
and Ilala palms dot the expansive plains to
create a magnificent savannah landscape
alongside the marshes and floodplains of the
delta.
The excellent game at Mombo and Little Mombo
has made this area Botswana's top wildlife
documentary
 location.
Elephant, buffalo, white rhino, lion,
leopard, cheetah and wild dogs are found in
the region and National Geographic, the BBC
have filmed here, amongst others - the area
provides one of the highest quality wildlife
viewing opportunities on Earth.
Activities at Mombo and Little Mombo include
morning and afternoon game drives in open
4x4 vehicles. Game viewing in the area is
excellent, as is the birdlife, with
waterfowl and waders being particularly
common when the floodwater subsides.
Mombo and Little Mombo have a ‘kgotla’ or
boma for delicious outdoor dining under the
stars. Otherwise meals are taken in the
beautifully appointed dining area. For
honeymooners, there is a private lounge with
sala and a private dining deck.
