Fully inclusive.

Located amidst shady trees on a 260 000 acre private concession in the Okavango Delta, lies the beautiful Baines Camp. Neighboring the famous Moremi Game Reserve and overlooking a perennial lagoon, Baines is the perfect combination of luxury, privacy and nature. This intimate camp features five luxury suites set on elevated platforms amongst the indigenous flora. Each thatched suites, individually themes around a Thomas Baines painting, features en-suite facilities and is equipped with a mosquito net, hairdryer, ceiling fan, safe, as well as an in-room emergency intercom. An extraordinary feature in each luxury suites is the fully mobile four-poster bed, which affords guests the fantastic opportunity of sleeping under the African starts without leaving the comfort of their beds. Panoramic views of the lagoon may be enjoyed from the privacy of the suite, the infinity pool with thatched salas or from the spacious lounge and dining area. Activities include day and night game drives in open-sided 4 x 4 vehicles, walking safaris with armed professional guides, motorised boat cruises and mokoro excursions (subject to water levels). A highlight at Baine’s Camp is the magnificent opportunity to interact with a semi-habituated herd of African elephants. Guests accompany Jabu, Thembi and Morula on an educational walk to observe them in their natural environment (see below for more information).

ELEPHANT INTERACTION ACTIVITY

An extremely memorable activity (which is charged as an additional cost) is the famous Elephant Interaction. Three orphaned elephants have been brought up in the area and have been used to being with humans since an early age. Every morning the elephants go for a walk around their home range, foraging for food and checking that all is well. They look for fresh fruit in the nearby trees and interact with guests. A few people each day are able to accompany them on their walk through the bush and see the wilds of Africa through the eyes of an elephant - a truly uplifting experience that makes a lasting impression on all who share their time with the elephants. This activity includes a leisurely paced walk with a trio of semi-habituated elephants, and a picnic lunch in their company. This will surely provide fantastic photographic opportunities.

Each guest room has their own private deck and outdoor shower, as well as fully-equipped bathroom inside. Generously draped mosquito nets and traditional ceiling fans also feature. There is a communal decked living room with stunning views over the floodplains, while the dining area surrounds a fire pit on the very edge of the Piajio plains so that guests can continue their game viewing while enjoying fine cuisine and wines. The expert guides will take guests deep into the bush in specially modified open 4 x 4 vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives to find the secluded places where elephant families congregate in search of the tastiest fruits and berries. The game viewing opportunities at Chief's Camp are awe-inspiring. On the plains one may find the roaming lions that prey on the thousands of antelope, zebra and buffalo who live here all year round. Guests may see spot wild dogs. These extremely rare predators have been hunted to the point of extinction in most areas of Africa and this is one of their last strongholds. Chief's Camp is the ideal place to spot the big 5 - perhaps even the rare rhino. There are several local lion prides as well as leopards, genet cats and hyenas are in abundance. Mokoro excursions are also offered here but are dependent on water levels at the camp.

The Islands of Siankaba have been developed as a luxurious five star lodge, exclusively sleeping just fourteen guests. The two islands are linked by a suspension bridge leading to an overhead walkway in the tree canopy, which connects the elevated chalets. One of the distinctive features of the lodge is how the excellence of its food and wines have developed a reputation for ‘haute-cuisine in the bush’ to compliment its first class service. Activities on offer and included in your stay are mokoro trips, nature trails, cultural village / school walks, sundowner cruises, trip to Victoria Falls, curio market shopping stop, and a picnic island lunch.
