Camp Okuti - Moremi Accommodation - Moremi National Park - Moremi Lodges

Camp Okuti's location enables everyone who stays to experience the marvels of Moremi Wildlife Reserve, including the resident lions who make this wild place their home. You'll know you're in the wilderness as you lie in your chalet at night and listen to the hippos grunting in the lagoon just a stone's throw from your door.

Camp Okuti is located in Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta, positioned under shade trees at the edge of the XBaines Campakanaxa lagoon. This ecosystem comprises shallow flood plains and papyrus lined waterways contrasting with dense riverine forest.

It is a small and private camp catering for a maximum of 22 guests, accommodated in insect-proofed thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms. Each chalet faces west and overlooks one of the Delta's most spectacular lagoons with stunning African sunsets. The staff and managers will take every care to ensure that all your needs and requirements are met during your stay.

Camp Okuti offers a choice of two game viewing activities. Game drives in open safari vehicles where an abundance of large mammals can be found or powerboat excursions towards the upper delta, where, during breeding season, large concentrations of herons and storks may be seen at their nesting and breeding sites. Camp Okuti is accessible by car.

The Camp Managers and your guide will plan your activities for the duration of your stay at Camp Okuti. Days can be spent going out in open safari vehicles exploring the diverse range of habitats within the reserve – from open floodplains to belts of mopane woodland. You can also venture out onto the open waters of the Okavango by motorboat, visiting the Xakanaxa Lagoon and beyond up to the seasonal heronry at Gadikwe. Moremi Game Reserve offers some of the most spectacular game viewing in Botswana and you may encounter breeding herds of elephant, a hunting lioness or a sleeping pride of lion, grazing impalas and kudus and much more.

A typical day in camp offers a morning and afternoon activity, returning to camp for lunch and a siesta in the middle of the day and back again in the evening for dinner and relaxing around the campfire.
