Travel Wild was established in 1972 when Maun was little more then a one horse town at the end of a very long and bumpy dirt road. In those days when there were no satellite communications and telephones, Travel Wild was one of the few links to the outside world – via the telex machine!

In the beginning Travel Wild was little more than a communications office where people could meet, leave messages and provided an essential radio link between the early safari camps and the outside world.

As the technology has improved over the years and with the advent of microwave telecommunications, satellites, and the internet, our focus has shifted from inter-camp communications to doing what we know best, giving people advice and helping them to book Botswana’s finest wildlife destinations.

Laura Campbell

Laura hails from the UK and worked in the travel industry there for 10 years before heading to South Africa in 1996. After 18 months in Durban, the ‘bush experience’ beckoned and Laura travelled to Maun, where she was offered a job at a local safari camp and has never left!
Over the years she has worked at various safari Camps – both in camp management and reservations, before setting up Travel Wild’s tour and reservations department in 2002. Laura (the boss) and Brent live on the farm at Motsentsela where they have just had their first child “Mathew”. Contact me....

Brent Dacomb

First came to Maun in 1986 as a professional safari guide with Afro Ventures Safaris. During these early years he conducted overland safaris throughout the parks and reserves of Botswana, spending most of his time on safari in the Okavango Delta and the Moremi and Chobe game reserves.  Brent’s favourite place is the Central Kalahari, he has a deep love of the bush and is never happier then when looking after some young animal or bird that needs rescuing or rehabilitating. Win Harrison

Arrived in Gaborone, Botswana on the 1st of May 1972 as an OSAS officer from the UK. She worked for three years in the Office of the President as the personal assistant to the Ford foundation – adviser to the president.

Winifred left Gaborone and moved to Maun in 1975 to take over the management of Crocodile Camp. Win joined Travel Wild in 1992 and is affectionately known as “the madala” (old one). Win remains the British consular correspondent here in Maun. Contact me....

Ali Julyan


Ali was born in the UK and started travelling at a very early age and hasn’t stopped. She found herself in Maun by way of her other half, a bush pilot, and so she came to join the sales team at Travel Wild. Having travelled extensively through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe it made sense to put her knowledge to good use and share it with those wishing to come and experience the Okavango Delta and all that Botswana has to offer. Nicky Potter

Nicky is born and bred in Maun, her parents run a Safari camp in the Northern Delta and have operated mobile camping safaris for several years, giving Nicky first hand knowledge and experience in the country she calls home. After schooling in the UK followed by formal Travel and tourism training, she returned to Botswana and joined the Travel Wild sales team. Having spent her formative years in and around the Delta, Nicky is extremely knowledgeable on all tours, safaris and Lodges in Botswana. Nicky’s obvious love and  enthusiasm for Botswana is infectious. Contact me....


Sekondeko Mongomba


"SD" joined Travel Wild in 1993 as a young man fresh out of high school and has seen and helped the company grow to what it is today.
Sekondeko is our “right hand man” and he is responsible for all our banking, our post and many other office chores that we take for granted. Sekondeko is an expert in dealing with the local bureaucracy. Contact me....
