Maun
This self drive itinerary is the ‘real deal’
!. The 4WD hire car is fully equipped with
all camping equipment & spares required to
drive and camp in Botswana’s National Parks,
When you pick up your car you are given a
full briefing on all mechanical details and
use of all equipment.
Day 1
Motsentsela tree lodge – Maun – Botswana
Dinner, bed & breakfast
On arrival in Maun , Transfer to Motsentsela
Tree Lodge, which is situated 20 minutes
from Maun airport. During your stay -dinner
and breakfast are included.
Motsentsela tree lodge offers a high
standard of accommodation and personalised
service. Accommodation in is an en-suite
luxury tent on a private wooden deck.
Motsentsela tree lodge is situated on a
200-hectare game farm, 20 minutes from Maun
airport. The main area is nestled under a
canopy of bird plum (motsentsela) trees.
Giraffe, kudu, zebra, springbok, ostrich and
gemsbok are found on the farm as well as a
wide variety of bird life. There are also
two marked walking trails, which allow one
to explore and view the game on foot.
Day 2 & 3
Mapula lodge – Okavango delta – Botswana
Full board, drinks & Activities
This morning you will be taken to Maun
international airport (approximately a 20
minute drive) where you will go on a
20-minute scenic flight to Mapula lodge. On
arrival at Mapula lodge you will be staying
in an en-suite chalet, which boasts a
private balcony and lounge. During your stay
at Mapula lodge all meals, teas coffees and
snacks, activities: guided walks, day
drives, night drives and mokoro excursions,
all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are
included.
 Mapula
lodge is situated in the northern part of
the Okavango delta, an ideal area for both
water and land activities. The shallow
channels and floodplains allow for tranquil
mokoro trips in the clear waters of the
Okavango delta. Guests can enjoy the
afternoons around the swimming pool or enjoy
the beautiful view of the lagoon from the
bar. Activities at Mapula include game
drives, guided walks, night drives and
mokoro excursions.

Day 4
After a relaxing two night stay at Mapula
lodge, an early departure to Maun (20 minute
scenic flight) . On arrival at Maun airport,
you will be met and transferred back to
Motsentsela Tree Lodge.
Day 5 & 6
Camping Moremi game reserve – Botswana
Approx 4 hour drive
Today, first thing you will pick up your 4WD
vehicle and be given a full briefing.
Afterwards, you have time to shop for your
supplies before heading off to the Moremi
Game reserve for a 2 night stay.
Explore the area on game drives, camping
overnight in a pre booked National park
campsite.
The moremi game reserve covers one third of
the Okavango Delta and is one of the top
wildlife destinations in Africa. The moremi
game reserve is a wilderness paradise with
good game viewing throughout the year.
Day 7 & 8
Camping Savuti - Chobe National Park
Approx 7 hour drive
Depart early for the long journey through
the north gate of Moremi and into the
southern Chobe NP. Camp overnight in pre
booked campsite at Savuti. Spend the next 2
days exploring the area on game drives.
Savute is famous for its predators,
particularly lions and hyena population. The
camping ground overlooks the savute river
channel, which is currently dry.
Day 9
Camping Chobe river area : Chobe National
park
Approx 5 hour drive
Depart after morning game drive for the 5
hour drive through to the Chobe river area
for a last night camping.
The Chobe national park is renowned for its
huge elephant herds; there is also a wide
variety of vegetation in the park offering
extreme contrasts and wide range of wildlife
and birdlife.
Day 10 & 11
Stanley safari lodge, Livingstone,Zambia

board & selected drinks
Short drive into Kasane to drop car.
After a final morning game along the river
before driving into Kasane to drop vehicle
at Kasane airport and hand over to car hire
rep. A transfer vehicle will then take you
over the border to Livingstone , Zambia and
spend the last two-nights at Stanley Safari
lodge. A great place to relax and explore
the might Falls as well as an opportunity to
take some of the many activities on offer,
Stanley Safari Lodge is settled in the
heights of Victoria Falls, bordering the
Mosi-oa-tunya national park – the smoke that
thunders. The main area of the lodge is open
sided
The open-sided Main House has been designed
with space and views in mind.
Enjoy sundowners in the African style
lounge, European-style cuisine with an
African twist in the dining room
or spend some quiet time in the library or
upper deck discovering the secrets of
Africa.
This half open house has a truly African
feel,
while the colonial closed suites with
private plunge pool evoke the elegant era of
Stanley and Livingstone
Day 12
After a two-night stay at Stanley Safari
lodge you will be taken to the Livingstone
airport for your flight home.
